Prayer

Sub-Article #3: An Understanding of the Importance of Prayer
“And he told them a parable to the effect that they ought always to pray and not lose heart” Luke 18:1 Jesus came to us not only to be the perfect sacrifice, but also to change way we Christians Pray. SOOO?? What’s so important about prayer?
Prayer is more than just speaking to our God (which in itself is an amazing!) It’s opening our hearts to our Lord as we speak to him; it’s having that ability to talk to God with the deepest passion, about your deepest thoughts! The book of John states this best to me, “If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you,” John 15:7. It’s more then a God to a mortal, it’s about Father to his children, Jesus use’s “Father” all over the N.T. in his prayers. The best known prayer is “The Lord’s Prayer,” (Matt 6:9-13 and Luke 11:2-4) where Jesus is telling us how to pray. By telling us to use the word father in Lord Prayer Christ is telling us that God wants to build a personal prayer relationship with every single one of us.
 How?
Ok so prayer is meant to help build the relationship with God, but how do you do it?? Well of course Jesus tells us how to do that to!  5 “And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 6 But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then you’re Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. 7 And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. 8 Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.” Matt 6:5-8. Look its fine to pray in church! But do it with the right mindset, if your doing it because you want everyone to think your a “good” Christian, then you obliviously doing it for the wrong reasons! And honestly Jesus went out early in the morning in solitary to pray (see Mark 1:35) so I’m thinking some bedroom prayer ALONE will be good for you. Honestly this is one verse of about a LOT
Ok, honest there is a lot more on prayer but I have a rule Sub-Article must be less than 500 words and I’m at 493, so I’ll probably have an Article later.
